Frequently Asked
Questions
HOW DO I BECOME A CLIENT?
Call us at 989.502.1940 to set up an appointment for an intake, email office@crcounseling.org, or enter your information on the Contact page, and you will be contacted on our next business day.
WHAT IS AN INTAKE?
The purpose of an intake is to give an idea of what CrossRoads Counseling Ministries is about. We will also gather information from you in order to match you up with a counselor that best fits your needs. It can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the number of family members and questions. There is no intake fee.
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?
Sessions are 50 minutes in length. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, we ask that you provide a 36-hour advanced notice.
HOW DO I PAY?
CrossRoads currently accept cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard. We also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Payment is due the day of your session. Financial assistance is available for those in need.
ARE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS ACCEPTED?
Yes! With so many employees reporting stress and anxiety as being major interruptions in their productivity and sometimes even cause work absences most employers want to support their team members in addressing their emotional well-being.
WILL MY INFORMATION BE KEPT PRIVATE?
Yes, absolutely. Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) Laws require your counselor to keep all information you share confidential. There are a few exceptions to your rights of privacy that center around the need to share information: to protect your safety, the safety of others, a subpoena, or a signed release by you.
IS ONLINE COUNSELING OFFERED?
Yes, virtual appointments are available for Michigan residents.
DO I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT GOD DURING MY SESSIONS?
No. Our counselors meet you where you are and will work with persons from all walks of life and religious backgrounds.
